I’ll be up to a lot in 2010. I feel as though last year was a “foundation laying” process and this year is the time to launch off of it. I’ll talk more about how I am going to make my 2010 a “10″ with some upcoming video blogs and one project I am super excited about going forward with is something I’m calling theĀ “Stand on Our Shoulders” Project.
The idea for this came to me years ago during a time when I was doing a lot of personal development work myself. As I was examining and upgrading some of my limiting beliefs and ways of being, the thought occurred to me,
“What if we never had to repattern our thinking? What if as children, we were taught empowering, healthy belief systems that would set us up for all the success and happiness we wanted?”
You can listen to the part of a radio interview where I talked about this here:
And now I’ve decided to dust this project off and make this idea become a reality this year and it will involve a few steps:
1) Conduct interviews with the top achievers, innovators and thought leaders a simple question: “What do you know now that you wish you knew then?” (I’ve posted a list of 50 people I’d like to interview for this project here).
2) Uncover common patterns in all of the wisdom gathered as well as share what each individual’s wanted to pass on to our children.
3) Create communication and educational materials for our parents so that they can not only know what to teach their kids, but how to teach it to them so that their children grow up to be even more happy, healthy and successful than they already would have without this wisdom.
I’ve already begun interviewing and I’m in the process of scheduling more. To get a taste of what this is all about, you can see the interview I did with Alex Mandossian on my Facebook Fan Page. He’s conducted literally thousands of interviews with the top personal development leaders in the industry and shares a beautiful story of what he’s teaching his kids right now.
A request: if you know or can put me in touch with someone on this list of 50 Top Achievers, Innovators and Thought Leaders, I would really appreciate that help. And if you would like to suggest other people whose wisdom you believe should be included in this work, please let me know. Thank you!
I am very excited to be working on this and I will keep you updated on the progress of Stand on Our Shoulders and post portions of the interviews as they are completed.
